Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio, Honolulu, Hawaii

After much prevarication I eventually decided to try out the Prince Kuhio hotel, which is a new one in the Hilton portfolio, having previously been a Radisson I believe. I had heard a number of bad things about this hotel since booking, but apart from noticing that some floors were being refurbished, I had an exemplary experience - I would certainly highly recommend this property as it is considerably cheaper than the Hilton Hawaiian Village, or the other high quality Waikiki hotels.

The Gold amenity was a free Continental breakfast, although this was severely limited. My disappointment with this was quickly assuaged when I was told that it was convertible into a $11.40 credit against any menu item, which provided much better value.

I was situated on the 29th floor and was upgraded to a Sea View room due to my Gold status. It should be noted that this hotel is set several blocks back from the beach, so the view is interrupted by some other high rise hotel/apartment buildings, but I was thoroughly pleased with the view that I had which looked right down on to Waikiki beach. The room itself was recently refurbished and was exquisitely furnished, the central feature being the huge plasma/LCD (don't know which) TV. The bathroom and walk-in shower was also beautifully finished. Slightly strangely, the wardrobe was situated in the bathroom.
