AA4813 New York La Guardia (LGA) - Boston Logan International (BOS)

Date: 15 June 2007
Departure (scheduled): 17:35
Arrival (scheduled): 12:55
Aircraft: Embraer EMB-135
Cabin: Economy
Seat: 9C

I had to stoop entering this very small aircraft, but soon found my way down the low and narrow aisle to my seat 9C, next to my friend who had checked in online to 9B and obviously knew this was the exit row. This meant that we had plenty of legroom around 34-35  I would guess. This was my first time in such a small aircraft, with only 12 or so rows of 1-2 seating, so about 37 seats overall. This was also my first time on American Airlines (American Eagle to be exact in this case).

Boarding was completed very early, as expected with such a small aircraft, but we waited at the gate for some time, eventually leaving about 5 mins down on schedule. As usual at LGA at this time of the evening, there was quite some queue for the runway and it was a good 20-25 mins before we powered into the New York sky.

In flight service consisted of only a drink and I had a Diet Coke from the lone cabin attendant. The flight only lasted 35 mins and we cruised at 17,000 ft, so we were soon descending and landing in BOS, having had perfect flying conditions and wonderful visibility en route over Connecticut and Rhode Island.

This was a very pleasant and comfortable flight, a good first taste of American Airlines/Eagle and the small Embraer aircraft had not been nearly as cramped as I had feared.
