Day 16 : Sunday 25th March 2007

The long haul back home

Today was the day I always dread on a fantastic trip such as this - time to head home. Luckily Scott whom I had met up with last night was also on my flights home. We met early in the Club lounge for breakfast and then swiftly checked out but had to take separate taxis to the airport due to too much luggage!

GF253 Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International (BKK) - Muscat Seeb International (MCT)

There was little time for anything in Muscat, but I managed to grab some duty free before heading for the next, and last, flight on this trip.

GF005 Muscat Seeb International (MCT) - London Heathrow (LHR)

Heathrow was reasonably pleasant for once and we were landside in not much time at all. Luckily Scott had booked a car through Gulf Air (free for First class passengers, Mercedes E Class) and we all jumped in and headed into London.

It had been a wonderful holiday, really giving me the opportunity to experience some new and fascinating places. I would certainly like to go back to Beijing and Tokyo (and more widely, Japan) and visit them more thoroughly, but this trip certainly served its purpose by opening my eyes to some great new destinations.
